Terms of use
Last updated October 25, 2026. These terms are between you (and your department) and MKE Group Inc. They apply to the Fire Ground Board website and iPhone app, together with the MKE Group terms.
An aid, not a replacement
Fire Ground Board supports your department's accountability system. It does not replace it. It depends on phones, batteries, cell service and the internet, any of which can fail on a fire ground. Keep using your radio, your physical PAR or passport system, and your department's standard operating guidelines. Never delay a PAR, a mayday, a rescue or any safety action because of what the app shows or doesn't show.
GPS positions can be wrong by tens of metres and are least reliable inside buildings. Do not use them to locate a firefighter.
Accounts
Keep access to your email account private, since sign-in codes are sent there. Department owners are responsible for who they invite and for the roles they give.
Plans and billing
New departments get a 7 day free trial with no card needed. After that a paid plan is needed to start incidents and edit records. Plans are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, per member who uses the app. Roster entries for people without the app are free. Departments can pay by card, or yearly by invoice (due in 30 days). Prices are in Canadian dollars plus applicable tax. When members are added or removed during the year, the next bill is adjusted for the time used. Plans renew each month or year until cancelled. If a payment is more than 14 days overdue, or a plan is cancelled, the department becomes read-only. Records stay readable and exportable and are never deleted for non-payment.
Your data
Your department owns its data. See the privacy policy.
Push alerts
Alerts depend on Apple, OneSignal, your phone's settings and your signal. They can arrive late or not at all. Always rely on your department's pager or dispatch system to know about a call.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, MKE Group Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any outcome on an emergency scene. Our total liability is limited to the fees your department paid in the 12 months before the claim.
